A speech therapist works with children who have language and communication disorders. A speech therapist is a special educator (special educator, deaf educator, blind educator).


Main activities

* focuse on etiology, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, as well as prevention of communication and swallowing disorders in people of all ages;
* assist children in maintaining, strengthening, improving, acquiring, or restoring their ability to communicate through speech and nonverbal language;
* orient on functions related to language, speech, voice, and hearing, as well as disorders and disabilities of the skull, face, and oral area;
* evaluate the psychological impact that language problems have on patients in their educational, professional, or social environment;
* conduct scientific research on topics related to language and provide guidance on them.
